A warm welcome to my website. It is lovely to have you here.
As you have landed on this page then the chances are you are looking for some support or wish to find out more about counselling. I hope that I can help you find the answers you need but please do get in touch if you have any questions.
You may be considering counselling for any number of reasons. You may be feeling lost, low, anxious or confused. You might want to talk about something difficult that has happened to you.
It is completely normal to feel uncomfortable about starting counselling. I understand this because just like you, I have been there; my own life experiences are what led me to counselling.
Prior to qualifying as a counsellor and Psychotherapist, I worked for charities including the NSPCC and a local Hospice. I then worked for 6 years managing The Bereavement Counselling Service in Plymouth. It was during this time that I decided to train as a counsellor and undertook specialist training in working with traumatic loss and complex grief.
In addition to my private practice I also volunteer at a local agency called Simply Counselling which is specialises in counselling for carers and for those who have experienced domestic abuse or sexual trauma.
I am fully trained and qualified in Person Centered Counselling. This type of counselling is non-directive so I do not give advice or tell you what to do. This is because I believe that you are the expert in your own life and you have the answers within you. Sometimes we just need a confidential, non judgmental space in order to find our own path.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I work strictly within their ethical framework and I am fully insured. I also have a current DBS check.
I offer a free initial 30 minute consultation so that you can get a feel for how I work and we can decide if we would like to work together. This is completely without obligation.
To book a free telephone consultation or to ask any questions please get in touch.
